  • Clip On Handlebars

I want to install a set of clip ons for my XS11 build, just curious how anyone else in the XS community went about doing this (as the headlight bracket prevents one from installing them) I like the big XS headlight and don't really want to change it out, and I've seen FJ forks with clip ons from the factory but I havn't seen an XS with clip ons yet, anyone have any pics?

Replace the stock headlight brackets with clamp-on universal mounts. That's what I did on my Honda 400 years ago.

      Here's what I've used:

I probably still have them around here somewhere.

Ditto on the clamp on headlamp brackets. I haven't got the clip ons yet, but I did lower the stock headlight. I just made the brackets out of flat strap, pretty easy...the clip ons are coming next, but I have not found time for it yet. The clubmans work great, though, except that they do not fit the profile I am going for. I don't want the bar across the top of the triples. An Acewell single gauge is in the future as well

hey ford, are you waiting for the 4000 to come out too? I've been on electrosports case the last couple months, they told me they'd have them in and taking orders by the end of march, of course they were supposed to have them way back in the middle of 09 to.

I kind of was, but I don't think they are going to get their act together in time. I definitely need round, so a 27 or 28 might be the way I have to go But I have seen some 27's installed on other cafe bikes, and the look pretty good, too. Any of them cleans the look of the bike a whole lot!

I do like the look of the headlight mounted lower, fits the profile for what I'm going for, I actually might do that too.

You just have to be careful of fender clearance. This one would tap the front fender if I hit a bump until I cut the lower mounting tab off the healight bucket. Otherwise it is great; it was a must do to get rid of the "peaked" look of the stock profile.
