i just bough a 1981 1100 special and it just started loading up when it is turned off. I went through the carbs and everything looked great...would love any ideas someone might have for me to check

I just found this post waiting for moderation?, so I bumped it to the top. Hope it is still relevant.

I ran into this issue after rebuilding my carbs. I had float needles that were getting stuck down. The #2 carb would flood from a dry bowl when I first got them on, then it would be ok. But the #4 was giving me trouble for awhile till I figured out that enough of the chrome plating got inside to push the clearance down between the inner wall and the float. If you haven't been through the carbs lately, you may suspect worn out needles.
