Compression
I possible explanation for getting readings so high is your guage reads; "high"
Try borrowing another guage and retest. Same procedures.
1. Warm engine.
2. All plugs out.
3. WOT.
4. Crank over 4 to 5 times on each cylinder.
The only time I have ever had engines that had compression readings in the 210psi range was back in the late 60's. They were pure racing engines and we used Sunoco 260 in them. (106 octane) If we used fuel of any lower octane the pistons punched holes in themselves in very short order.
