Lately my bike had been suffering from a lag in acceleration off low rpm, possibly from clogged jets. I ran a tank of gas with Seafoam and now it runs better, much less hesitation. Now I'm a believer in the virtues of Seafoam. Has anyone tried it in their crankcase?

I use Seafoam in the tank and use their Deep Creep spray which is essentially the same thing.... thru the carbs and down the spark plug holes to help eliminate carbon buildup. It is only available from NAPA in my area and as soon as they get in new stock ( I bought them out last time around... LOL) I plan on putting some in the crankcase.
I DO use it in the crankcase in my old 72 Wagoneer as well as in the gas and thru the carb and I've noticed a real difference. The lifters and the rest of the valve train are quieter now and there was a big difference in idle and throttle response after using it the first time.1978 XS1100E "Flashback"

I kreemed my tank, put on NEW petcocks, and rebuilt my carbs and replaced all the jets. I probably didn't need to use the seafoam, didn't notice any appreciable difference. More of a 'maintainence' thing than solving a problem.
Also added a bit to the crankcase, supposed to remove/prevent sludge build-up.
I also added some to my XL250R (Honda). Now there I did notice a difference. Same amount of throttle has the front wheel comming up in 1st and 2nd gear with no effort (havint to lean forward now). Added to oil in that bike and the (non-adjustable) camchain noise is less.
I should run some in my CM185T (for sale) and see if I can finally out-run the neighborhood kids on their 'weedeater' powered scooters (I hate those things).Pat Kelly
