I will clean them for you but it will cost you the bike. Your not going to find many if any people here that send their carbs away to have work done on them, its been proven to be a waste of money. Someone on the form might be interested in buying your bike the way it sits. Post it up.'79 XS11 F

there is a member here that will clean/rebuld your carbs for you. I've heard he does great work, and unlike most shops actually knows what he's doing. Do a search and if you can't find him post back and I'll see if I can dig it up.1979 xs1100 Special -

Carbs
I have a local guy that says he will remove and clean and rebuild and reinstall for 300.00, that scares me, what if he don't know what he is doing. He comes highly recommended, but if I put that much money in the bike it will be hard to sell for the value of it. Maybe I'll take some pics and put them on xs11.com and try to sell it as is, standard with Yamaha fairing, backrest and luggage rack, tires are in good shape, rear master cylinder rebuilt. It seems to have a turnsignal problem, right one works and left one works when it wants to, if you take the right side cover off and tap the flasher unit it works fine, that is hard to do riding down the road. How would I go about looking for the carb man on this site, I'm not very savvy on this p/c? I know that on xjbikes they tell you how to do all of that carb stuff. Thanks for the help, Ride-on

I just did the carbs for a local Midnight Special owner as part of a bunch of other things I was doing. It took maybe 2 hours and 2 cans of carb cleaner spray. I STRONGLY suggest that you take the time to clean them yourself. It will save you a LOT of money, and you can be sure that they were done right. There are tech tips on this site that will walk you through the cleaning process.1980 XS850SG - Sold
