ok, so i cleaned and fixed my carbs, got new t fittings, rebuilt the cocks, snapped and replaced the throttle cable, synced the crabs got the 78 xs going the first time yesterday, ran fine no hesitations went to the Yamaha dealer got oil and filter, changed and filled to correct level, a friend of mine went to move it and put it over on the right side. Now hesitation, when at idle it runs well for a bit then drops to less than 1000prms and dies, does start right back up, and seems to bog at low speeds. i set the floats to a standard level, with the spec from here. adjusted new throttle cable and it helped some, it don't die but still drops real low and almost does. a bit worried too that the exhaust on the 1 and 2 is cold at rest, while 3 and 4 are hot it does puff air, and it does heat up when ran a bit around the block . does this sound like fuel? coils? help!

Hey Gorgan,
Seen this before, after falling, the vacuum hose comes off of the a petcock which feeds the 1-2 bank. They are linked fuel wise 1-2 and 3-4, not ignition, so check that petcock to make sure it's flowing. Make sure that the upper "T" fittings are truly VENTED, not capped!! Make sure that the nipples the upper vent tube fits onto at the airbox is clear, not clogged.

1 and 2 staying cold sounds like fuel issue from that petcock to the carbs.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
