  • $50 Project pictures pretty much completed

Finally getting around to sharing pictures. Couldn't have done it without you guys!
Lots of pictures. I'll put some more up later on some of the repairs along the way.
This is the way it came home. Don't know what seat that is for, but not for the XS11!

    Custom gas tank key!

I love the Dinty Moore can on the exhaust!

Think this ground should be cleaned up?

I think this was my favorite PO hack, the starter switch!

Note the custom momentary starter button and wiring.

The Porsche was under the cover in the first picture. Got em both rolling this year! Good way to stay out of trouble and lose some weight.

And I'm thinking I've brainwashed my favorite biker buddy, Hunter, into inheriting the "Vroom Vroom" somewhere down the road.

Nice clean-up and fixes considering what you had to start out with! Had to have been a labor of patience to say the least.

Excellent work. You really cleaned that up nicely!! I bet those wiring issues were fun to track down if you did not just pitch the crap and buy new switches. Really good job "restoring" that beutiful bike! Your buddy could easily be riding it when he is your age if gas is still around.

fantastic job!! i'm just starting mine, but i don't think i can find enough original midnight special parts to get it back all the way. my plan is to get cleaned up enough to be respectable, then go from there.

don't forget to clean up the bike too cheezy!

While you are cleaning up enough to be respectable, don't leave out the bike!

I can see how guys have more than one of these bikes. Once you do one you realize how simple most of the repairs are. And these bikes are a nice combination of simple and reliable with just enough technology to be pavement twisters. I love the low end on these bikes.
Oh yeah, Hunter is my first grandchild, so I'll be 70 when he is 16! He is at our house a couple of days a week and is waiting when I pull in the driveway. Loves to beep the horn and wear the helmet while he straddles the tank. Gotta stay in shape to keep up.
