  • mysterious bb from carb?

hi! i've started cleaning my carbs, and i found a small bb on the towel i laid down to catch anything that fell out. i've repaired carbs on goldwings, and an xj750, but i don't remember seeing anything like this before. i thought it was a fluke, until i pulled the second carb apart. as i was loading everything into the carb cleaner basket, i noticed another bb. any ideas before i move on to the next carb? thanks!

Did you break them apart from the rack? there are a couple of them wiyh springs to hold the enrichment lever at the stop points

About the only think that looks like a “BB” on our carbs is the ball detent for the enricher shaft.
      Has two…

the little springs for the detent balls I assume must have totally escaped? detent no-worky without the missing teeny-tiny springs.

If it makes you guys feel any better, this entire thread is now making me feel like a much better typist!! And like I even think out my post before submitting. (ha...like that will really ever happen)!!

There must be something in the water from the Rocky Mountains that only flows down to the west (I thought about saying east there just for MRO.). You know it seems kind of dangerous to be riding on a MC you worked on if you get confused about which direction is lefty loosy and righty tighty!!

                          The water?..........Caly stole it all!

BTW, icons are at bottom of message box same as before. I click on a particular one and it automatically goes to title box. Had SWMBO give a go as she is a 'puter guru, nothing has worked yet to insert elsewhere. Anything mechanical...no issue, computer even being total logic irritating when logic fails. Tried 'drag', etc......again no-worky(same official tech term)
