Correct spark plug selection XS11?

After breaking a sparkplug and deciding to go ahead and get all new ones, I found out for some reason I had installed NGK bp6es plugs, trying to help get rid of a rich condition maybe? Checked my XS11 manual and it calls for bp8es, so I split the difference and bought bp7es plugs. If I remember correctly the smaller the number on a plug the hotter it is? Was wondering what the general consensus is on what plugs should be ran in the XS11 / what plugs other people are running in their bikes?

AFAIK, the BP6ES was the stock plug. The shops around me don't carry too many non-resistor plugs, so I usually throw in BPR6ES. Here's a list that I compiled with the help of others:

Thanks for the Info snow, I will make a note in my manual. Since I have already installed and made a run on the bp7es plugs guess I will go ahead and leave them in and see how she acts?

Yeah, BP7ES should be fine, its one range cooler than the 6 if I a remember correctly.

Hey Moderator, Tech Tip/info in this thread!

Hey Snow, and Moderator,

I just checked the tech tips, it has a section on reading your plugs for performance, but there's no list of available plugs and cross references....which seems to get asked a fair amount. How about adding Snow's list to the tech tips!? Just an idea!

I just go to the local import auto parts store and have them cross referance them to Bosch Platinium plugs.

Back in the bad old days I used to be able to cross reference spark plugs in my head. All the numbers have changed and the old gray matter ain't what it used to be.
