Is it possible to remove drive shaft w/o removing rear wheel

Hello All,

Is it possible to remove the drive shaft and cover without removing the rear wheel?

I need to remove it due to the entire system being locked. If any of you recall I had the engine/tranny seize and the entire drive train is locked in 5th gear. I need to move the bike so I was thinking about removing the drive shaft w/o having to rear the entire rear end.

Nope, can't get that puppy out without removing the rear wheel and the final drive. But what you can do is pull back the boot at the middle drive and pull the four bolts connecting the u-joint to the middle drive. This will allow the driveshaft to spin so you can move the bike...

This will also quickly indicate if it is the engine/trans that's seized or if it's the final drive.

Long answer: No.

But you can pull back the rubber boot between the engine and swing arm and take the four bolts out that couple the ujoint yoke to the middle drive. It will take some creative language if the wheel wont turn.
