      Front forkspring spacer

Can I use the original springs on my SG and add a spacer. This will make them stiffer but will it be safe (to save me money buying progressive fork springs) Not that I'm mean I just have so much to do. But this is my main question the spacers ,is this measurement in inches ?

One more tip, if I may. Keep the fork tube fully assembled (spring still in it)...and turn it upside down and stand it on the floor. (put a rag down first to prevent scratching the end cap) Grab the lower part of the fork, the aluminum part, and push downward, collapsing the tube. This compresses the spring, putting pressure of the thingie inside helping to stop it from spinning as you take out the bold. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend putting loktite on the bolt when re-assembling, unless you'd care to go through this spinning bolt thing again the next time you try to take it apart.
