  • Idle jet problems

I tried the push pin trick, and it did not work. The pieces are in there pretty tight. I was about to drill out with 1/16 bit, but stopped myself thinking it was probably a terrible idea. any advise?

Are you talking about the entire jet being stuck on the later model carbs where it is down in the tunnel? OR are you describing a proken tip stuck in the hole on the older style carbs

        idle jets

tip is broken off in two left side carbs. Bike is 79 model, so I guess thats the older style? It runs kinda rough. When I rev engine, fog comes out of these two carbs and it will not idle, only boggs down til it shuts off. Been sitting for like 15 years. I changed oil, gear oil, cleaned carbs, and tank, put in new battery. I don't know if there is something else I missed or the idle jet tips are the main problem.

          idle jets

where can I buy the idle jets? I need 3 and I am assuming that the bike won't run well with the broken ones in there once I get the holes cleared out. I have found carb repair kits for $20-25 each, but I don't need the rest of the stuff in there.

sounds like your talking about your mixture screws,
these are located on the outside front of thye carb,
your pilot jets are located inside the fuel bowls next
            to the main jet.
the early model carbs are notorious for the tips breaking
off, causing the bike wont idle and run like crap.
