  • What type of tire tubes should I use?

I'm switching from tubeless tires to some Retro Firestone Champions (tube type) from Coker. I know, I'm moving backwards instead of forward. However, I'm not sure which types of tubes would be better for my xs11 mags. The Coker tubes come in 2 different stem types. (See the pics below) Wanted to see what type of tubes the tube crowd is running.

The type with the threaded stem would be the correct type.

I can't speak to the sizes, but my tubes look like the ones in the first picture. Just looks like a nut and a bolt. You might do a search on rims as there are a number of threads that talk about the different profiles for tube and tubeless wheels. Personally I wouldn't put tube tires on a tubeless rim. Not for any safety reasons though. With a tubeless tire, if you pick up a nail or other road debris you can usually fix the tire without ever removing it from the bike. Tube tires are a much bigger PITA.

Dang Phil, if you type any faster your fingers are going to burst into flame .
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

I don't run tubes anymore, but the threaded type is what I always used to use. Also, I would put one locknut on the stem first, tighten it down, install the tube, then put the other locknut on the outside to keep the stem from any kind of shifting.

DB, I just type less words.
