    Shocks from a swapmeet

    Hi list,
I bought a NOS pair of "S & W Street Stroker" shocks but discovered they were 14" eye to eye instead of the 12 anna bit stockers.
Tried them on anyway and the rear drive rest angle is a bit worrysome, as in; way too much.
    Two questions:-
    1) Will they (or any 14" shock) work without wrecking the shaft joint?
    2) What are the bastards worth if I want to re-sell?
I have Googled to no avail, lots of entries about the things but no seller, manufacturer or price list that I can find.

Hey Fred. Were you up here for the swap meet last weekend? Think I might have had a look at those very shocks!

      Hi Rasputin,
if you were at the Red Deer swapmeet, yeah. Me and 5 other Saskatoon CVMG members were there.

        Fred,
I ran 13.5" rear shocks for about 25K miles with no problems on the old daily ride. I don't see an extra 1/2" that far back making a difference. Good luck with the shocks!

Have someone take a pic of the bike with you in the saddle and see if they still look too long...

Too bad I did not know you were coming this way. Rooster and I live here in Lacombe (12 miles from Red Deer) and Kjohnson is not far and maybe we could have all met with you for a quick get together. Maybe next time around.

Fred, I ran a set of S&W street strokers (12.5") for about ten years. They were great shocks, till one froze up and turned the bike into a hard tail.
