    Fred,

I'm totally surprised with you, actually siding on the side of folks with obnoxiously loud pipes! Relying on loud pipes to make up for poor driving skills, not ensuring that you are seen(lights/flashed) and heard(horns) when passing someone is just poor form IMHO...yep...yet another opinion.

Scott, don't know if you're even still reading this thread or not, but being a Marine yourself, you should know the affects of extreme concussive sound pressure waves on the ears from your rifle/pistol training. Even with ear plugs and a full face helmet, I get ringing in my ears just from the helmet wind noise. And my pipes are a mufflered 4-1 system, slightly drilled endcaps. Now you add the constant 90+ db concussive force of straight pipes for possibly hours of exposure, and you'll be getting hearing aids before you're 40 y/o! But...it's your hearing, or loss of it decades prematurely, your choice!
