80 Lg
Just got a 80LG and some of the gold trim is not so good I need info ho cleaning it up or replating

Replating is expensive and not what was there in the first place.
The plating that was done back then is little more than the same as a bathroom sink. It is done in mass and from what I have found out expensive to duplicate. So This is what I have found WE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL owners must do,
1. You can look on ebay and try to find parts that are in better shape. ( good luck)
2. You can paint it black.
3. You can replace with chrome parts from a Special.
4. The right thing and get it plated
