The 80-81's were detuned a little to meet EPA regulations. 78-79 had hotter cams.
      2H7 (79) owned since '89
      3H3 owned since '06

And smaller valves, and higher compresson. I'm not sure how much actual horsepower difference that made, as I haven't actually seen any figures to show how much the difference is between them.

Provided you have good medical coverage, here's a less costly way:-
Go mouth off in a rough bar.
Some Redneck will undoubtedly break your jaw.
You will spend the next few months with your jaw wired shut.
          Weight loss is inevitable.
          'Lo Fred,

Good point there. Seems that whenever someone tries to buy their way out of problem (Like OverWeight) there's a slew of businesses poised to "Help" you but for Top Dollars/Loonies. Looks like the mainstream method can be a little pricey.

Thanks for reminding me of a time, place, and the people that pull themselves up/out of trouble by their own bootstraps.

It was because of the EPA-required changes that were made after '78. Not a HUGE change, but it did affect the 1/4 mile times a bit.

Ooops.. I just realized I missed the second page that already said that....

Might I recommend this simple and FREE program that is guaranteed to take the pounds off FAST?

It is TRULY simple too: simply disconnect those two wires that power the coils. Then, KEEP taking your XS11 to all the places you would normally go. Just plan on it taking a LOT longer than usual. But the pounds WILL come off VERY quickly!
