  • Hello Everyone from San Diego!

Hey guys, i'm new to bikes, and i'm looking into getting a project! I'm extremely familiar with cars from the ground up, and i'm hoping some of those skills can transfer over onto bikes.

I'm in the San Diego area, and i'm actually looking into the craigslist post for the 2 XS11's for $500. I was wondering if anyone in the area who is familiar with bikes come check it out with me. I'm also very dedicating to learning new things, so if there is anyone in the area that can take me under their wing for working on bikes, that would be AWESOME. I'm a quick learner so it shouldn't be toooooo hard.

Anyway, please let me know! I'm excited and I can't wait. Hopefully the bikes are still available.

PS. I do not know how to ride yet.. so it would help a lot if someone could go with me. Thanks!!!!!!

    welcome

Where in SD are you, there is a few of us down here, and those two look like a couple of parts bikes to me. If you keep looking you might be able to find something better. And don't forget to take the msf course it is invaluable.

I'm located in the Mira Mesa area. I'm definately going to take the MSF course, I just gotta stash up on extra cash. I just though this would be a good opportunity, and hopefully verify it with someone who knows what to look for. Anyway, I figured like it may be a good deal since one of the bikes were running, and the other was not. I'm not really expecting to get a showroom bike or anything, as long as it rides reliably and doesn't need an engine rebuild.
That's great to hear theres few from San Diego on here, hopefully it'll make things a lot easier.

Well im truly looking forward to building.bobber-like bikes. And just running into the craigslist ad sort of sparked the main interest on the xs1100. Just as any bike has an enormous range of modifiability(dont know if thats a word), i felt it may be a good choice
