    I guess that means the ignition and the tank locks on your bike are different? What about the helmet lock? All 4 are supposed to be the same key, but chances are, you could take the helmet lock mechanism off and get a key made for it, and that will match the side cover lock.

    Just be glad the side cover isn't broken, and still latches. I lost my side cover on the freeway because the latch had been broken and no longer locked.

        Wow... Somebody musta really torn the locking parts on your bike to shreds!

        Are you sure it's not there? It should be located just under left edge of the seat, just forward of the top left rear shock mounting bolt.

          I once had a locksmith made a key to a Katana tank for $35. It shouldn't be too bad to have a new key made.
