  • Ode to the P.O.

i'm sure everyone has a previous owner story. these days mine just keeps getting longer. first it was the fuel sensor...gone...then it was the kickstand sensor....gone....the octopus...gone....1 original petcock...gone... its like dirty diapers ands gifts from your grandma. your never know what your gonna find, but your pretty sure your not going to like it. today my rear light quit working. the stop light was fine but no running light. i knew the bulbs were ok so i figured hmmm must have shot a fuse. so i cracked open the fuse box and mcuh to my suprise there was nothing there. all the fuses except the one for the digital display...gone...once again i found myself questioning the parentage of the p.o. this leads me to my true question while cursing the fuse box i noticed the aux fuse and connection below it. has any one used this to power their accesories? in the meantime looks like i'll be rebuilding the main fuse box, or as i call it now the by-pass box.

    cheers daryl

I gotta give props to my PO. 18k and that bike was (is) in excellent condition. If I only had the time to polish it up she'd be looking like new.

Are you having fun yet Daryl?!? What? the clutch switch and RLU are gone too?

As for the Aux connection: I wired in a relay for my LOUD horns there.

Good luck with Fuse Block Repair Options

        Hear you loud and clear!

Ditto for me and my horns.

The OEM power lines and grounding at the horn button were not beefy enough to carry the amount of current the aftermarket horns I put on wanted to draw or needed, so I used that OEM horn circuit to power the relay switch, I ran a straight 16GA tap from the acc. term to the main power line for the relay, and then to the horns and to ground! They are definitely reaching their 110db potential when I hit that button!!!!!
