That's the one.........but why the Bay! Needing one yesterday, go to your local scoot accessory shop and buy one........cost the same as the Bay. Being where your at, any accessory dealer worth his salt will have one in stock!

Hi Johnnie,
those Virago cables are part of a push-pull system.
Although the cable looks like it should fit the length of free cable may well be different enough that there will be either too much or too little for the adjuster to cope with.
Like the replies say, go to the nearest bike parts store and buy the right one.
Thing is, you are 30 years too young to know how to mend one, right?

Take the cable with you.
Most decent shops can make you custom cables on the spot.
(GHM) Try a Hardley shop.

Did you try calling Chaparral Motor Sports, they're in San Bernardino. I order stuff from them all the time, and your cable is probably something they have. A cable from an XS Special should for sure be long enough (XJ parts a bit harder to find). HTH

Did you try shops in East LA? They tend to stock a lot of throttle cables than west side shops. No guarantee but try Mototecnica and Cycle Stop. Beware some shops in LA area are so ignorant of old bikes and try to custom-make a cable...

Sadly, the cable for the XJ doesn't swap with the XS. It's got some plastic coming down off the throttle handle where I see the XS has metal. It breaks there a lot also.. not just the cable. I always carry an extra throttle and clutch cable on trips. I think I gave $30 for my last throttle cable.. but I know that if I HAD to have it, someone would want twice that and I'd have to give it.
I see Speedandsportinc.com has them for $38, but I don't know the shipping there. The throttle cable part # is 10M-26311-00-00.

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!
