Yes, that is the normal vacuum signal. I'm talking about the small amount of vacuum added by the choke enrichment circuit.

Seeing as the tread is about the choke circuit on the carbs, I have a problem for you experianced carb dissasemblers.
I have a siezed choke valve on No 3 carb on my spare set of carbs, which I need to used to replace the no3 carb on my useable set that has a broken float post.
I have dissasembled the carbs completely, even off the rack, and have this siezed choke valve on the carb body I want to use!
It has been soaking in crc for the past two days , still will not budge.
      So my options.
      Repair origional broken post.....
Replace the broken post body with the siezed choke body but dont reconnect the frozen choke valve to the control rod and only use the three other chokes for starting,
Buy another set of carbs and try again.
Have a hissy fit, go to a carb specialist, waste some good money, cry with frustration......

Any suggestions from you guys would be a huge help

Did you remove the carbs from the rack? What part is frozen - the plunger or the retainer? You can heat the carb body, just around the plunger area and grip the retainer with a box end wrench and wiggle it back and forth until it lets go. Be careful not to melt the rubber parts though. The plunger should rotate freely in the hole, so you might be able to grip the end of the plunger shaft and twist it too.

Yes I have removed the carbs from the rack, and stripped the offending unit down to the minimum. I have removed the retainer and can grip the plunger shaft, there is no movement at all, its frozen solid. But was just thinking on what you suggest as to heating up the carb body, I may experiment with putting the carb in a pot of water and boiling it on the stove.... crazy idea but it might work and not have the added problem of melting the rubbers. Im not keen ontrying to heat the carb body with anything esle at this stage.

Remember that the tip of the plunger is rubber too. You don't want to melt the surface that presses against the end of the tunnel. That is probably the offending area though, not wanting to let go of the surface of the carb... Maybe a freezer?? Get all the parts to shrink and harden so they might let go of each other.
