Yes they're swirl polished that and the better transitional shape is going to make these better flowing valves than the originals...

For anybody that wants to get in on the next order, PM me with what you want and I'll put you on the list. When we have enough for a minimum order I'll contact you all for payment at that time.

You're welcome. BTW, I received some answers to my questions about these valves and they are stainless steel rated to 1800 degrees F.

I'm now looking for a good reason to do a valve job on my bike next winter...

BTW, anybody interested in valve springs?

I received my valves today as well.

I'm going to be putting them in this Sunday morning. I have yet to figure out what else I'll need. Who knows what parts have been permanently lost in the shop..

          Thanks again Geezer, awesome job!

Poprock came over today and we installed some valves....

First off this is why these valves are better than OEM. A new OEM valve is on the left and one of the stainless valves from the group buy is on the right.

We started with the #4 cylinder. He only bought one stainless exhaust valve so that's the cylinder that got the close up.

Here's a shot after we got them all in.

BTW, we're getting close to a second order for late valve and there are no orders for more early ones. It's best to replace the intakes as a set but not as important on the exhaust side. The minimum order is 8 each and when there's enough demand, I'll call in another order.

              Springs

I'm going to get some valve springs with the next order. I have a pair that I can use for ID and OD and length (maybe) but I can't find my manual to look up what the free length is really supposed to be (the springs I have are way old) and what the specs are for # of compression. I'm looking to get springs that are 10 to 15 % stronger than OEM and not something so strong that it causes increased cam wear.

Are you saying you cant get the early valves or no one has ordered any yet? If you can still get them put me down for full set of intake and exhaust. I am sure I will have to be in there sometime this winter and might as well beef things up so I don't (hopefully) have to go in anytime soon after that!

                      Hey Tony,

You may want to rethink that. The only reason for increased spring strength is to stop valve float. My bike pulls good PAST redline. The excess strength WILL increase cam, valve, and head wear. That will make you have to change the valve clearance more often. If you do decide to get stronger springs I would limit them to 5 percent over. JAT.

It's moot anyway. The company we got the valves from couldn't match up the springs. I'll keep looking....

Check on a company in Dallas called Associated Springs. Don't know if they are still around. I used to have a buddy who was a foreman in a spring manufacturer. I will try to locate him for you.

BTW- Great job! I want a set of those valves next time around. Hopefully I will be gainfully employed by then.

I may be needing a set of valves for my 78. I will know for sure once I pull the head tomorrow. I'll send you a PM as soon as I get it done.
