PayPal works but you guys will have to do it as a personal transfer so there won't be any fees and I think we should use my wife's account for this so as to keep it off my books.
I haven't done a running tally but I'm sure we have more than enough for a minimum order. I'm not getting any late model valves but I'm getting 2 full sets of the 78~79 valves for me so that will more than put us over the top...

Sure personal transfer is fine, and same with the wifes account to keep the books clear. So is it, all set to go, and if so let me know when you need the dough.80 MNS , Georgefix pods , crossed fuel lines, no octy, inline filters, Daytona handlebar, custom seat, Hardley 19 muffs

I expect to hear from them tomorrow if they need to see the samples first or if I can order at the same time... If all goes well, I can start taking orders tomorrow...

No late-model valves?
There were a couple posts about the late-model valves as well regarding the years, but the late-model valves are the 1980-1982 XS/XJ 1100s - those years use the same valves.82J · 81SH · 79SF Fire Damage · 78E · 79F Parts Bike · 04 Buell Blast

I've had piss-poor luck finding good valves for the XJ 11 for less than $50 after shipping used (e-bay).
I might be interested in a full set instead - might as well replace them all while I have the engine apart, right?82J · 81SH · 79SF Fire Damage · 78E · 79F Parts Bike · 04 Buell Blast

Next update
The valve company has had the samples for 4 days now and I'm still waiting for a reply. I send them an eMail yesterday requesting and update. The ball is in their court and we just have to wait...

I was thinking more along the lines of replacing them all with new valves and keep the 4 good ones as spares. I guess it really doesn't matter.
I cut and lapped the four good ones and they have a good seat - my first valve job. Did I mention I'm new to all of this? Thanks to the watchful eye of an experienced mechanic, I haven't screwed anything up and I'm learning a ton.82J · 81SH · 79SF Fire Damage · 78E · 79F Parts Bike · 04 Buell Blast

It's a go
I got a confirmation today that they can make the valves
So if you want them you need to PM me your order and I'll eMail you the info to PayPal or mail me the funds.
We're still on the target price of 15 bucks a valve and we're looking at 2 shipping costs. One to me and then from me out. If we divide out the initial shipping cost, I think it's going to add about a quarter or 50 cents per valve. After that it's going to be $5 to get them to you in the USA, $11 in Canada and $15 for any place else.
The smart thing for those of you outside the US is to group order and split the high over the boarder shipping cost. I have no problem fibbing to customs and saying these cost $3 each...

Out on a limb
I decided to get the ball rolling and I called and placed an order. The minimum order is 8 each so I ordered 12 each In & Ex for the 78 & 79 and, and 8 each In & EX for 80+ bikes. I just laid out 600 bucks for valves in the expectation that they will all find a home soon...
For those not up on PayPal, you will need to log into your account and paste in the eMail address I send you from a PM then select that it's for a gift further along in the process.
The message you put in with the payment will let us know what you want. I want to do this in code so that PayPal doesn't know that this is a business transaction and charges us a fee for it. I message needs to be like this. Start with the 2 digit year of the bike, then the number followed by an I for intake and E for exhaust. So if you were going to get a full set for a 79 the message would be "79-4I-4E."
The turn around time on these is 2 weeks and that's one of the reasons I ordered some now. After this, whenever we need a minimum of 8 each, it's a matter of a phone call to get them on the way.
