Surely, someone who deals in these can give you dimensions. Old Bike Barn and REPRODUCTIONDECALS deal in the Aussie badges. Perhaps you can get a response from Mike's about dimensions?
    Ok, now I'm confused....

The 'badgereplicas' site says theirs fit both the 650 specials and the '78-79 1100. And the ones at MikeXS I'm looking at are for the '78-84 650 specials, so theoretically they should have the same mounting.

And anybody have a quality comment on the Mikes badges? They're a lot cheaper and with some recent issues with some of his stuff, I have to ask...

I'll see if I can get the center-to-center distance out of one of them.

I have XS650's and an XS1100. The badges are not the same. The XS1100 badge is larger. The XS650 badge from Mike's XS mounts to the XS650 with the screws. It will not do the same on the XS1100.

        Crazy,

Jet is right. I ordered a set of tank badges from MikesXS a few months ago thinking they would fit. They won't. The mounting holes are narrower.

          Hi Mashermoto,
I swear the list had this discussion last week as part of another string?
Drill & tap the rear support arm (M3?) mebbe a 1/4" forward.
Bolt the badge on at the front & spot through the rear bolt hole to get the position right.
There will be a slightly noticeable part of the tank indent left showing at the rear.
If you are re-painting the tank you could fill that part with Bondo.

It should be noted here that the metal "Aussie" replica badges don't fit perfectly, either. There is shrinkage involved in their process, so the holes don't quite line up.

These are the ones sold by BadgeReplicas, and Reproduction Decals. The later site has installation instructions. The former lists OEM part numbers.
