  • What is this?

I am going to pick up a honda from a guy who also has this for sale. I think it is an 1100, but I'm not sure. I figure somone he might be interested in parts off it if it is, so I will post here.

It has no seat or tank that I saw, but might be somewhere in the junk. The only way I would mess with it is if someone here wanted it. Post a reply if you know what it is.

If I remember correct the manufacture date is 1981.

I'm in the center of Oklahoma. I have to take a trailer to Missiouri to pick it up and was hoping someone migh chip a bit for gas. He was asking $50 for it.

I didn't see a kick start on it so I don't know if it turnsover. Carbs are there and the pipes look okay from what I saw, but didn't spend a whole lot of time looking at it. Fork tubes weren't too crusty.

The vin is just a scratched, peeled sticker and I couldn't see a model number, but the year as there.

I just noticed you were in Lewisville. I am planning to be at he CMRA races on the wekend of the 12th of March. Might be going throug Dallas on the way to Austin either before or after. Got another parts hulk to pick up in that area. This could happen for you without extreme hassle if you are inerested.

You sure John? While it's definitely a Yammy, it looks more like one of the smaller 4-cylinder, shaft-drive bikes they built. The frame shape looks a lot like an old XJ650 frame I've got laying around, the ignition cover on the motor looks small, and the gauge/headlight mount don't look like anything off an 11...

Yep, look at the fork lowers, they're center mount, unlike the Specials. Also the gir... I mean swirley wheels. Probably a smaller cc XJ.

Forks look like they are from a standard. The axle mount is on the bottom. Curved wheels look like they are from an XJ. Only the xs1100LH had curved wheels right? And the fame looks sorta askew. Don't know...

                        Best I could tell,

Looked to have the MNS swirl wheels with dual discs. The HL ears are wrong and the Gauges have a odd tripmeter knob, but I have seen one other like it. What little else I could see appeared spot on the money.

                          Phil

You are right about the forks. That's the problem with most of our PO's. Hard to tell from such a limited pic. Anyone know of any other bikes with that wheel besides the XJ and 81 MNS?

Are the lamp ears like your smaller XJ's?
