    I did the ACCEL coil upgrade several years ago. I was supposed to remove the ballast resistor? Really?

    Guess I gotta go pull a tank! Mebbe I can get at it with the tank on.

      DON'T JUST PULL THE RESISTOR!!!
      Check your coils FIRST, and see if they are 3 Ohms or 1.5 Ohms. If they are 1.5, you NEED the resistor. It's only the 3 to 5 ohm resistance coils that do not need it.

        Mine (Accel Super Coils, yellow can) were sitting about 3.5 ohms when I went out and ohmed them with my DMM. The resistor definitely needed to be removed!
