  • Got air shocks want to change

I currently have a set of air shocks on my XJ1100--not a thing wrong with them, rides and handles great but I want to lower the bike a bit and was wondering if going to a shorter shock would accomplish the task. Eye to eye the current set is 12.5 and I'm thinking about going to a 11.5 eye to eye length--would this change the ride or handling from some of you experienced guys who might know? Also, what's a good source for shocks that won't cost me an arm and a leg? Plus, anybody got suggestions on how to lower the bike (Keep it simple, Sam)?????

Take a look at this tech tip

you can also do a search. I am sure there are many threads dealing with this. Overall I think it is a pretty easy modification to make. As for handling, I know that you will drag centerstand/pegs/pipes or whatever else sooner so it does effect the bikes cornering ability.
