I installed dyna coils(1.5 ohm) on my 1979 xs1100 and kept the resister under the tank.I would like to keep the stock looking wire ends.(Maybe from mikes xs)Is it ok to use the resister type plug ends with these coils?Or do they make them non resister that look the same? Thanks!!!

    Hey Salboy,

The plug caps unscrew right off of the OEM plug wires, so you can remove them, check them for corrosion(green/white) where they fit onto/into the wires, clean as needed, then check their resistance, should measure about 5-8k ohms, have found them with both values on same bike, so you may want to mark with masking tape which # plug hole they came off of before measuring and such.

You can get replacment NGK type caps, but they don't necessarily look the same as the 30 y/o OEM's depending on where and what type/style you get. There's a tech tip that shows the NGK styles/ angled, straight, etc., with a guide to the nomenclature to help you figure out what you need to order!
