While checking out some drag racing at DragTimes.Com I ran across a guy by the name of Morris Kenyon who had a post and some pictures of his modified 78E making some passes at the Great Bend Motorplex in Ontario, Canadian.
His times were 11.71 et @ 114 mph and a 11.44 et @ 120 mph and the weight of the bike and rider was 730 lbs.
He listed his modifications as consisting of a 1179 Wiseco big bore kit, V&H ported 82 head, Web cams and a 4-1 Hindle exhaust.
He didn't comment on his horsepower but his et would be indicative of mid 90's at the rear wheel or more depending on his drag racing skills.
I don't know if Kenyon is a member of Channel Eleven or not but these are good numbers for any bike of the disco era and killer for an XS.
I was impressed.
