  • XJ spooge holes

I'm sure it's been addressed before, but I'm having a devil of a time finding the posts. The spooge hole FAQ is great, but on the XJ I think the MC reservoir is a different shape. I just wanted to make sure you could in fact pry off the reservoir on the XJ before I break it. I remember trying to do so in the past and feeling like it had either been on there too long and I was gonna break something if I pried harder, or that it was actually glued together.

When I searched the forum, I tried "XJ spooge" and all of us with XJ in our signature lines made that search equally useful to just "spooge". I've had a dragging front brake on the bike, and parked it because at the time I didn't want to spend the money on repairs. Now I feel like riding again but the dragging brake would overheat and warp my rotor if I used it as-is. I've done the spooge cleaning in the front MC, but never occurred to me to do the rear MC...I was just about ready to replace the whole caliper, thinking it was related to the PO pulling, or attempting to pull out the piston with a pair of vise grips...it's not so smooth anymore.

Thanks for all the help over the years, and I'm glad to be back on the forum and soon back on the road on 2 wheels,
    Jon

Well, it seems I answered my own question. I got far enough down the list to find a thread on the XJ.

I think I can handle it from here...thanks all!
