    Connecting rod numbers may be found printed on the back or the front or both the back and front of the connecting rods.

    If there are two numbers on one side of a connecting rod the correct number may be located on the opposite side of the rod and may be read from right to left or from left to right to determine the correct O.E.M. bearing insert.

    After determining the correct O.E.M. inserts, ignore all of that and just use the thickest number 1/Blue inserts you can find, then check them with Plastiguage.

      OK, I get the joke. I'll start with the Blue inserts. I've torn the offending pages out of the manual, who's got a match?

        Sorry, I don't have any matches or a lighter but there are a couple of other pages in the fine manual that need incendiary updates, too.

        Tune in next next week for, "Decrypting engine case and crankshaft numbers to find the O.E.M. Main and Thrust bearing sizes!"
