fj headers interfere with xs oil filter....

Tod: *rips throttle back leaving from a stop light, feels a good pull up to @ 110-120mph, before finally realizing the acceleration has forced gas out around the bad gas cap seal with total saturation of manhood with gas.

Harry: *giggle, snicker, laugh!!!

do FJ headers fit other than interfereing with oil cooler

to Matth,

It sounds as if you may have tried to fit the fj headers to the xs, am curious about that, other than oil filter interference, are the fj headers an ok fit to the xs,

re fitment of pipes to head,

diameter at port?

attachment at port?

clearance of frame?

length to reach under the bike ok?

clearance of anything else on the way back to the rear, such as side stand , center stand?

clearance of any collector to frame??

fitment of muffler to xs frame of footpeg mount or exclusive pipe mount?

Sorry to be so exhaustive in questioning but am seriously interested in knowing what precisely would be the problems in fitting the thing to the xs since xs pipes are so problematic to get .

I tried that once , yes, long ago. Because of the filter interfering i did not bother to try more. Headers fit the ports 1:1, that's for sure. Downpipes are single wall stainless. And I know for a fact that XJR(12/13) pipes do fit the XS, only the collector hangs low and points downwards at the end. You can fix that with cutting and welding.. Footrests need to be adapted, collector mount must be made .... do-able but not without any work, runs fine though..

Pipes do have to come off for an oilfilter change though...
