Solid Lifters 1980 SG???

Hi all. Thanx so much for this forum, youve saved my life a couple of times here in the Philippines. Ive looked through the archives and such, and cant find this. It may seem stupid to some of ya, but Im no mechanic. Does my bike have solid lifters???? Thanks again in advance!!

Yes, we have solid cam followers with a shim over bucket. Shims are changed to adjust valve lash.

You need a service manual!

Yes, they are solid however not lifters. There ar "buckets" under each lobe of the overhead cams and the clearances are adjusted by different thicknesses of "shims" that sit in the buckets.

If you don't have a manual you need to get one. Someone on here has it in a pdf on here.
