  • Who's really really really good at polishing....

'Cause I suck at it and it doesn't help that I no longer have my 2-bay shop since the dee-vorce so I have no place to even set up my bench grinder.

So if you're good at polishing I'd be willing to pay and ship both ways. I've got the motor torn down for the starter clutch fix, and Spring is 3 months away....so, there's no better time than now. All I need is the right guy. Parts are not rough, I've polished them before, but I could never get them 100%. I will clear coat them.

This is the scope of the work:

    Valve cover
    Clutch cover
    Shifter cover
    Alt cover
    Breaker cover
    Oil filter cover
    Oil pan
    Breather cover
    Bearing /starter end covers

Who's really really really good at it?

    Harley.

I have a bench grinderr set up with a coarse and fine polishing wheel, but I would say I am average at it. Plus it'd cost you shipping plus beer.

Seriously, if you don't get any other hits, I would give it a try, but like I said, I am rather average.
    Ich habe dich nicht gefragt.

      Hi Randy,
I do hope you have since found someone to share your life with but if you are still living alone,
what stops you from setting up your bench grinder/polishing station in the living room?
      A "divorce" story for you.
Seems that if the divorcing couple cannot agree on who gets what, they are accompanied
to the disputed property, a coin tossed to see who goes first, then the couple take turns picking items.
She won the toss and picked his radial-arm saw.
      He took her sewing machine.

Probably nothing, except the big a$$ mess it makes.

Fred, if you've ever done any serious metal polishing, you'd know the answer to that! It usually takes me a couple of hours to clean up the mess in the garage after a stint of this where cleanliness isn't a big deal, and that's just to get the bigger stuff. Plus the fact you end up black from head to toe after a couple of hours. SWMBO just hates it when I do this as everything you touch gets dirty.

I actually had one of my neighbors stop one day to 'check on the black guy hanging around your place'!!! LOLOL!!!]
