Ok....i'll look for that.....there wasn't a rubber plug, but the float bowl has a little nipple thats supposed to hold the plug in....do i take out the jet to see it or would the elongated hole be above the jet?.........it's suppossed to be an 1981.......it has the recessed adj. Screws........if they are the basterdized early 80's carbs, can i put in the pilot jets that have no side holes and then the rubber caps?....I'LL HAVE TO LOOK TOMORROW.......THE BIKES AT DAVE SHOP......

I am not aware of any of our bikes not using the BS30/96 style pilot jets that have a total of 6 holes in them (not counting the ones on the ends of course). have not seen any of these that were to be stock with the N151 or VM style pilot jets. Maybe there is ALOT more for me to learn though.
IIRC, the elongated hole (Due to it being drilled at an angle) will be above the actual jet in the pilot jet tower. To see it in the main jet side, you need to at a minimum remove the main jet. Then you will see it inside the needle jet/emulsion tube. Now, I think all of the emulsion tubes have this hole in them, so you will need to look to see if the hole is in the carb body which you could look carfully through that hole in the emulsion tube, or remove it.
The 81 model carbs did not have this crossover. But this would not be the first bike to have carbs replaced with a set from a different year. There are differences in float bowl design from 80 to 81, but the only set I have seen and held that are the bastardized ones had the 81 float bowls on them. So you just have to look.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
