  • Introduction valve guides

    Hi

New to the forum, got my old bike shipped to me from sweden to Canada (my present location) after having had it my parents garage for the last +20years and determined to get it back on the road.

It's a bit different as it's a moto martin (popular cafe racer chassi in europe in the early eighties see www.motomartin.com) with a xs 1100 engine converted to chain drive.

I have two engines one standard which I got to fire on ether today so to get up and running I will hopefully only have to clean the carbs, change oil etc.

The second engine has 1196 wiseco pistons ported head bigger valves cams + etc. Problem is that the tuned engine over reved as a result of the drive chain parting (many many years ago) bending two valves, luckily the head seem to have escaped damage apart from one of the guides.

Therefore wonder were to find a new set of valve guides and an exhaust valve as the bent inlet valve is something modified from a car.

Looking fwd to your input and will post a few pics when I get things cleaned up.

If you have the late model head (80 + up), the valves should be available here, click engine parts. Don't know about the guide tho...
