i am currently paint my bike. and i have a couple pictures that i want to draw onto the gas tank and side covers. but i want them to stay. i have a satin finish so i cant clear coat over it does anyone have any ideas.

Clear coat it, and then after it dries for at least 24 hours take some 0000 steel wool and drag it in a straight line to make the clear coat satin. I have done this for many years on refinished piano's using high gloss paint and then using the steel wool to turn it into a satin finish. Actually by sanding and polishing first you get your best possible satin finish this way. It comes out look much better than satin finish paint (although you can probably find satin finish clear coat as well).Cy

finished all the painting today. until i make up my mind as to if im going to paint my front and rear fender. any ways got everything clear coated and realized that i like it better than the flat. and i moved my emblems around a little.1979 xs1100sf
