  • front wheel spacer tolerance

Anyone of you know how close the length of this spacer needs to be? I had some difficulty getting a bearing out and wound up leaving a few witness marks on one side of the spacer. I can buff it up, but I was thinking that this might affect the load and postion on the inner races of the wheel bearings. I do have a NOS replacment, so could toss the old one.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Scott,
that's the sleeve that sits between the front wheel bearings to keep them the proper distance apart?
I would guess that the length tolerance for such a component woud be ~ +/- 0.010". The bearing pockets in the hub would be bored deep enough that the bearings would not be side-loaded even if tightened onto a minimum tolerance sleeve.
So long as the original sleeve has not been shortened by your removal efforts (check it against the NOS one) just bung it back in.
