Anyone have any experience installing an aftermarket ignition system?

Stock IS an "electronic" on the bike! The only thing I've seen is a few members installing EFI and using a "megasquirt" to control both the fuel AND the ignition.

There's also this one from Sachse Electronics in Germany. Not used it myself.

i installed a dyna s on a kawasaki 650. easy to follow instructions. also installed the dyna coils at the same time. a lot easier than i thought it would be. made a huge differnce!

The stock system is more or less exactly like same setup as the Dyna S system. I would not bother moving to that as there is no improvement to gain. Going to a Dyna 2000 or 3000 might be worth it if your dieing to alter the timing curve. Those systems are very spendy considering your not going to gain much just by altering the timing curve.
