  • Pacifico fairing fit

Does anyone know if a fairing off of an xj650 will fit the xs1100 special with different mounts? I was thinking the fairing itself would be the same, and only the mounts would be different. Have the chance to get a fair Pacifico fairing for $50.00. Also how hard would it be to make the mounting brackets?
    Thanks

    Hi Newbie,
if you have a welder, a chopsaw & a drill press, making the brackets would be no challenge at all.
Plus the Special has two M10 holes tapped into the frame just below the steering head to bolt the mounts to.
And if all else fails, you could polish up the fairing to e-bay it at a modest profit.

      Hi Newbie,
As you have a XJ650 too hardly a big gamble for $50.
My XS has a Pacifico fairing but as I have never had my 650 in the sameplace at the same time I have not done that comparison. I think the 11 is wider in almost every area . Building a mounting bracket should be straight forwatrd for someone with fabricating experience. Mine is made of steel and the fairing sits on a flat plate about 1 inch wide on either side.
      Hope that helps.

I did a few minor measurements across the frame, and the fork width, but they are just preliminary. The two bikes appear to be the same at that point. I'll have to make my decision tomorrow. I guess if all else fails, i could put it on my XJ650. Just wanted to leave it naked.

Near as I can tell, it would likely fit a special with no problems. I have one from an (I assume) XS750/850 on one of my standards, and while it fits, it's a snug fit around the gas tank.

The 650 has a tank similar to the xs11 special, IIRC.
