  • Front brake lines

Anyone know a source for braided stainless front brake lines? Want to do that when I rebuild the rest of the system.

    Thanks

Dan, I just made mine. There is a guy (Chris) that has made them for several of the guys on this list, but the timing became problematic.
You can get Goodrich braided lines already cut to length, with threaded ends. Simply buy the banjo connectors and screw them together.
Not cheap, but very easy. They look and work great.
I think that I paid about $36 per line for the parts.
Most good parts houses will have the stuff in stock

    Good luck,
    Mike

Russell also makes braided steel lines in a variety of lengths. I recently put them on Tsunami and am happy with the improvement. I put Goodridge line on SWMBO's 'H at the start of the season, happy with them also. For me, here in Canada, the Russels were much easier to get through my Yamaha dealer. I mail ordered the Goodridge stuff through Dennis Kirk and had a %$#$ of a time getting backorderd parts delivered - finally had to track down a hydraulics shop in California to get the final couple of pieces. And, being in Canada, you can bet I paid a whole lot more than $36 per line

I bought lines from this company

        http://www.h-e-l.co.uk/Shop/shop.htm

When I got the kit one line was to short but I sent them the length of line I needed and they sent it free of charge. I know they are in the UK but only place I found that had black covered lines. I paid $136.00 for 4 lines all new banjo bolts, new washers, and air freight. Took about 2 weeks for the order to arrive.

Thanks. I'll run down to Cycle Gear to order some lines. I'm used to H-D where lines have the splitter built in. Looks like the XS uses two banjos and a common bolt. Shouldn't be too hard to get lines made.
