  • Clear Signal Light Lens

Hey folks, I want to change the stock amber lens for clear ones but can't find an application for our bikes (I have the round lens, not the rectangular ones). I have found round ones for the Yamaha V star, Warrior and Royal Star. Not sure if the dia. is the same. Has anyone on this site done this without have to replace the entire signal light assembly? Not questioning why you'd want to

    Hi Rick,
you found them on line but can't physically compare them?
Can you find the normal amber lenses for those 3 Yamahas and compare the lens part number to the part number for the XS11 amber lens?
If the numbers are the same, they'll fit.
BTW, signal lenses for XS650, XS750 & XS11 are the same. So are the lenses from a DT360 but not the DT360's bulbs because they are 6Volt.
Searching for clear lenses for those bikes might help the search.

For any of you that are interested, after researching the part numbers from the various bikes that I could find clear lens for none of them matched the part number for mine. I was at the local Yammy Dealer today and took my old lens to see if they could cross reference it with some of the newer models.; they said they couldn't , Buttttt while I was there I spotted a new V Star and did a little matching on my own. Sure enough they look like the exact same diameter and the screw holes line up as well. several of the aftermarket online sources carry clear lens for the Vstar.

Now if we could just find something modern that uses the same lens as a standard.

Good luck with any help from the dealer. Of course some might be more helpful than the one close to me. They told me that they didn't have any way to reference the dimensions of either mine or any of the newer bikes to see if they would be compatible. Their suggestion was to replace the entire signal light. I don't want clear lens that bad.

Ive ordered a set of clear lenses for my
bike (round lens) at a local spare parts bike shop, they were an
after market brand, unfortunately i havent picked
them up and dont know the brand or part number. He opens
              up in the ny.

from memory Dan Hodges special has clear lenses, maybe if you do
a search on his bike something may come up or he might chime in.

Thanks for the info Pete. Once you pick yours up and make sure they fit correctly how about passing the part number along.
