    1980 SG Original Paint?

    Anybody have a line on the original paint color/name/make for a 1980 SG? Looks black with subtle red or reddish gold flecks in it.

    The tank is a little chipped up and I've touched it up with universal black but once I break it down to change the valve cover gasket and some other minor stuff, I might get a new coat slapped on her!

          You can try doing a search for Paint codes. The first one I looked at was this one....

          I think the actual codes are hard to come by but with a little research maybe you can find them. Myself I have a couple I need to find, just have not put any effort into that yet.

              Yamaha called that colour "Black Red", you can see the rest of the XS1100 model colour names here
