I've got the same bike, all stock and all apart right now. What numbers are you looking for?

        Hi motorhead,
got my XS11SG in extremely used condition with non-stock bars on it so no, I have no idea what the stock bar dimensions are.
But I do know how to get bars that fit you.
Those numbers don't mean much and everybody measures them differently anyway.
Go to a local swapmeet. Every second table will have a boxfull of used bars, typically $20 for nice chrome ones.
Pick up the bars and hold them to see how they feel. Take the one you fancy over to a bike that someone has for sale and hold it while sitting on the bike if they'll let you.
I went through this with my XS650, the stock buckhorns were NOT what I wanted so I bought several different bars to substitute. Eurobars, too low for me but my son loves them on his XS650. Next, Honda CB750 bars, better but too tall. Finally, bars from a '72 Suzuki GT750, perfect!
Now the CB750 bars are on my XS11SG where they are perfect for the different stance of sidecar work. The bars that my XS11SG came with? They fit real nice on my BSA 250.
And so what? Only YOU can decide what bars will fit you and the best way is not to depend on measurements but to physically hold them.

I'm just thinking that if I know where it starts ,I know the direction I want from there .I hear you on it's what fits you .There is a little bit of a standard for measuring bars ,but it is far from perfect.I have bent bars now that make it tough to get a good measure .And I hate the way the stock special bars look and feel. It's 11th of December and next time there is a swapmeet in my area ,I'll go .In the mean time I'm wanting some bars that give me a good start .
FWIW www.sideroadcycles.com has good info on how to measure .I'm pretty sure you'd allready know this ,but I threw it out there .I know even with measure there will be lots of variables .If I see a picture of the style and have the measures ,it helps .33 Balmy degrees now

            Hi motorhead,
thanks for the link but Flanders bars at $100 for the cheap ones???????
            I think not.
If you can't wait until the spring swapmeet, try the local bike store. Most have a whole rack of various differently shaped bars. You try on shoes before you buy them, right?
My local shop has them for $35.99 which is admittedly more than the swapmeet price but way better than $100 + shipping from Flanders.

I've got a set of bars from a standard if that's what you want. You can PM me if your interested.

They were on my SG when I got it.

I don't like to be humped up like that. I like to sit back.

              Here's a pic.

A few scratches and a little rust but they're straight.

My link wasn't to try and sell the bars .But that site explains how to measure bars and has stock bar dimensions for the past 10+ years .The prices are high ,but it is good quality stuff

The top ones are the stock tiller type bars for the '79 SF. The ones in the middle are a lot more comfortable. The ones on the bottom are currently on the bike.

Just reread your post,If the standard bars make you hunch forward ,that is not what I want.I like to ride relaxed -kicked back. That's why I was asking about pullback initially. Thanks for the offer anyway

What did the middle bars come off of.Something along that line is what I had in mind .But maybe a little more pullback.Do you know the length rise and pullback of the middle bar by any small chance. You say it is comfortable .Can I ask how tall you are .Maybe sleeve length.None of my business by I had to ask. thanks
