    Do you know if this shocks will fit an STOCK xs1100sf '79. ???

    they'll fit OK, it's whether you want them.
    the writeup for the first pair says they have been shortened. Can you even do that? And that they are height-adjustable.
    The spring preload adjuster does NOT alter the shock height. The dubious write-up puts me off those.
    The second set are airshocks. The tube you see links the two shocks to balance the pressure.
    The question here is, do you want air shocks?

        ordinary shocks have a coil spring that takes the load and a hydraulic damper up the middle that stops the suspension bouncing up and down.
        Air shocks also have hydraulic dampers to stop them bouncing but there ain't no coil spring. The load is supported by air pressure. You pump them up harder to support a greater load.
        Advantage, the infinitely variable suspension rate rather than the spring shock's 5-click preload adjustment.
        Disadvantage, if the air leaks out the shock sags down all the way leaving you with your arse dragging and no rear suspension.

          And I RUN air shocks on my '79 standard. I DO need to check them now and then, and use a bicycle pump for adjusting the air pressure. The volume is so small that a compressor will over fill them, and when you try to check the pressure with a gauge you loose 5 psi! I use a pump with a gauge, and just adjust about every two weeks, or more if SWMBO decides to ride along!
