  • bike wont stay running after wash

hi guys, just hosed off the bike at the car wash. it starts fine but it dies as soon as i put it in gear, even before i let the clutch lever out. for now its parked on the street, i'm thinking i have water causing a short somewhere and hoping it will run once it drys up, but in the meantime im open to suggestions . . .

I had that exact same issue a month or so ago. When the neutral light goes out, the plugs stop firing, right? It'll start again when it dries out. It seems water gets into the sheath protecting the neutral light and pickup coil wires and shorts out the pickup coils when the neutral light goes out. Give it time.

      frustration plus

the other thing you might like to check, is small cracks around the coil itself, my rocket would stop running in a shower of rain.
