What may cause a slip after throttling and engagement of the drive? The only thing I did was tighten up some play in the clutch lever. When riding on the road if my accleration is quick, there is a catchup from the engine to the wheel. I have low mileage on the bike so I can't imagine it being the clutch!

One other problem, what connection area should I search for with (NO)breaklight when the fuse ,bulb and switchs at foot and hand are good? Any thoughts? People don't look for hand signals!!

Sounds like you got the cable too tight causing the clutch to slip. There should be 1-2mm of play at the lever. You might check the tech tips too on clutch adjustment at the clutch. Or it could be time for some new clutch springs. I'd try loosening it a little at the handlebar first, though. And lastly, if you run oil with friction reducers in it, that can cause a clutch to slip also. Nothing but cheap 20W50 dino (changed every 2k) for me.

I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

30 yr. old clutch springs will be weak and promote slipping. If you have the old type glass fuse box, I'd recommend replacing it with the blade type. The clips for the glass fuses get weak and don't make a good contact. Did you check the questionable fuse with an ohm meter? Sometimes they look OK but are broken inside at the end.

Try cleaning the connections behind the license plate. If that doesn't do it, take the light off and check the black wire. It's attached with a spade connector, clean that up.

What kind of oil you got in the engine? Some oils don't work well with the wet clutch.

It runs in the same oil as the engine.

Check all the plug connections in the harness, behind fuse box, and in the headlight bucket.

I think the front brake, brake light goes in there. Doesn't it?
