  • Just found a new source for parts

    http://www.hvccycle.com/index.htm

May not be new to others, but I just ordered brake pads and oil filters from them at well below dealer cost.

    Yep, used them already

I too, found this parts source while restoring SWMBO's '82 XJ650J Maxim. I bought a new front caliper piston from them.

    Got a good price, too!

They seem young, enthusiastic and helpful. I think they're still getting it together. I placed an order over the phone since the web site confused me a bit, and they never asked for an e-mail address for a confirmation. But it was an overall pleasant experience.

      Brake pads at dealer: $54
      Brake pads at HVC: $32

      Oil filters at dealer: $11
      Oil filters at HVC: $7

Add these to your list for OEM parts:

        www.boats.net

        www.yamahasportscenter.com

I haven't found better prices on genuine YAMAHA. You'll need to order by part number at either place.

I got on the phone with them (they're in Lincoln, Nebraska) and told them year, model number, etc. and they found everything.

They are new to Lincoln but seem to be rich with knowledge about older bikes. My buddy has a old Kawasaki bushwhacker he was having problems finding parts for and they found um. I have heard good things about them so far.
