XS-100 electrical fault
hi, i just bought J reg XS-100, it runs but i have no indicators, head lights orback break lights and no dash lights working...
can someone please help with my problem???

I assume you meant xs1100 right?I'd start out checking fuses and the fuse holders.Then plugs for oxidation and bad connections.Then ignition switch.Welcome to xs11.com.

Be willing to bet you have a fuse/fuse box problem. Either the fuse is blown or the connection to the fuse is bad. Check the fuse with a Ohm meter, Your eye ball is not good enough. Also very carefully clean the little tangs that hold the fuses. If you bust it I have replacements. Also +1 on the grounds. They have got to be good and clean or all sorts or weird stuff happenswingnut

Post you location and you may find an XS owner willing to ride out and help for a cold beverage...
My question is the Tachometer working? If not, time to start at the beginning of the charging system. If it IS working, I would look at the fuse block, and then go to connections behind it.
Cleaning ALL the connections, and using dielectric grease on the "hot" connections, will help. I use NO-OX or anti-seize on ALL the ground bolts, after CLEANING everything.Ray Matteis
